Valeria Sweater – knitting pattern
Please note before going further: this pattern comes with two explanatory sheets that I’m delighted to offer you — the “Le Fraisier” version and the “Provence” version — to guide you if you’d like to knit a personalised multicoloured version.
Valeria is a basic boat-neck sweater, cosy and enveloping, suitable for beginners who already have some experience of knitting in the round. Roomy, light and luxurious, it’s designed to be thrown on easily for any occasion. This design is worked in the round from the top down in stockinette stitch, with raglan sleeves.
Available sizes
XS / S / M / L / XL / XXL
corresponding to a bust circumference (in cm) of:
90 / 95 / 100 / 110 / 115 / 120
The sweater has about 10 cm of positive ease.
Recommended yarn
• 5 (5, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins of lace-weight yarn.
• Choose a soft, supple yarn that is pleasant to wear next to the skin.
The green version in the photos is a size M, knitted with three strands of Wooliette Doucette Kid Mohair & Silk in the Verde colourway (420 m / 50 g) held together.
The striped version (size L) was knitted from leftover yarn: it’s a free interpretation to show what you can make with mohair oddments. The pattern contains the instructions for the solid-colour version. If you’d like to knit it in a different colour combination, feel free to adapt it to your taste.
